Stealth comment at the NYT
I sneak a comment on the trans attack on women's sports past their censors.
NYT has an article on the how athletic attire for women is changing for the better: “Across sports, female athletes are fighting a battle over what they put on their bodies and how much of those bodies they display.”
I got this comment past their censors:
This article does not even mention the greatest threat to women's sports, which is the worldwide misogynistic movement to allow men to compete against women in women's events. Already, inspiring female athletes such as Emma Weyant (say her name!) have seen a personal-best performance that also bested every other woman in the competition have her championship stolen from her by athletic governing bodies (men, mostly) that refused to follow the long established eligibility rules.
This must stop, now.
Emma Weyant is (as I hope all my readers already know!) the swimmer whose national collegiate championship in the 500m freestyle in 2022 was stolen from her by the NCAA when they allowed a man, Will Thomas, into the pool to swim against her and the other women.
Since my comment puts the blame on men and misogyny without mentioning that the men in question are those who falsely claim to be women (and their enablers, which sadly include a lot of women as well as men), it did not get kicked out as hateful transphobia.
We’ll see if it stays up. As of now, one hour after posting, it’s still there and has 13 recommendations.
And, to see some women’s sports at its very finest, watch these five minutes of highlights of the recent World Cup match between Colombia and Germany.
Good tactics!
